Dear Reader
As I write I am very aware of the heartbreak and sadness that many of the people of Queensland are facing as a result of torrential downpours and resulting flooding. I am fortunate that my family and friends are safe from the flooding that has affected so many. This deluge of epic proportions is sure to be felt throughout all of 2011.

New Year - New Beginnings
Dear Reader
Just a little about me. I make unique and artistic hats and headpieces that are aimed at women who enjoy the confidence that a one-of-a-kind piece has to offer. An exacting standard of production and finish is lavished on all my pieces. Love Hats provides a service with complete integrity.
I have been privileged to be able to attend workshops with some of Australia's best milliners - Neil Grigg and Waltraud Reiner. I hope to be able to travel away in 2011 to gain further skills and inspiration for hat making.
My goal by undertaking this blog is to connect with other hat makers and hat lovers .
I have been studying some old silk flower making books recently. I haven't been able to attend any classes so have been learning to make various flowers by trial and error. Here are the roses from a bridal headpiece I made recently. I made the roses using the instructions from these and they were truly elegant - even if I do say so myself.
Have a lovely day
